According to the International standard for the representation of dates and times commonly known as the ISO 8601, Monday is the first day of the week. However, the systems used in the United States of America and Canada consider Sunday as the first day of the week.
Equally, all the Sabbath Day Adventists(SDA), will consider Sunday as the first day of the week since they worship on a sabbath(Saturday). Culturally and historically, Sunday signifies the start of a new week and is usually considered a day of rest.
Starting of a new week is not mentioned anywhere biblically. The Bible does not mention which exact date should be the sabbath. However, the ancient Egyptians set a 7-day week where Sunday was set aside as the ”day of the sun… sun-day”. It was marked as the first day of the week.
