‘Wewe unajua aje sijakatwa?’ Raila Odinga shoots back to those Questioning his circumcision: With the August polls fast approaching, leaders are moving from one part of the country to another issuing fake promises to Kenyans and attacking their opponents strongly. Among one of the attacks directed to the ODM chief Raila Odinga is the issue of circumcision.
Some individuals have come out claiming that Raila Odinga is uncircumcised. It is not the first time this narrative is coming on board and probably you have heard of it multiple times. For a long time, the ODM boss had remained silent on the matter. However, this week Raila Odinga has broken silence on the emotive circumcision talks. In a speech, Raila Odinga wondered by a grown-up man would be bothered with the male genital’s of another man adding that it is a non-issue to the country.
Here are the words of Mr.Raila Odinga: ”wewe unajuaje Raila hajakatwa? Pili,wewe ni mwanaume kama mimi, uko na haja gani na chombo changu. Huyo mwenye analalamika ni shoga,”. Raila spoke those words while in Teso, Busia county.
This issue of circumcision was brought by the Gatundu South member of Parliament Moses Kuria who reminded the community to adhere to an oath in 1969 by Mzee Kenyatta. Moses Kuria claimed that part of the oath was that the Kenyan Leadership would not be handed over to a uncircumcised leader. According to Moses Kuria, President Uhuru Kenyatta was attracting a curse my endorsing Raila Odinga.
Here are Moses Kuria’s sentiments: ””In 1969 when you are under siege you rally 300,000 Kikuyus to take an oath-at a fee- binding them never to elect an uncircumcised person. 50 years later without calling for another oath to undo the first one, you unilaterally make an about-turn and expect the whole community to follow you,” he said in an indirect attack on Uhuru who has settled on Raila as his preferred successor.
