It is known that as the ages vary, one is recommended to sleep for a specific time thus giving room for the body to relax. The amount of sleep is known for varying as the one’s age.
Newborns: 0-3 months
The newborns are recommended to sleep for 14-17 hours thus offering their body with enough sleep. It is important to note that they may sleep for short periods throughout the day and night thus waking up to feed.
Infants: 4-11 months
Infants are specified to sleep around 12-15 hours of sleep per day. They are also known for waking up frequently to take naps and feed thus making them wake in short periods of time throughout the day and night.
Toddlers: 1-3 years
The toddlers are recommended to take 11-14 hours of sleep per day thus making them to typically sleep for 10-12 hours at night.
Preschoolers: 3-5 years
These are known for sleeping around 10-13 hours but are known for typically sleeping for 11-12 hours at night.
School-aged children: 6-12 years
School-aged children are known for sleeping 9-11 hours of sleep per day and still may sleep in the daytime thus making them sleep 10-11 hours at night.
Teenagers: 13-18 years
Teenagers are known for sleeping for 8-10 hours a day and they also tend to have difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep.
Adults are known for sleeping for 7-9 hours of sleep while older adults are recommended to sleep 7-8 hours of sleep.
