It has been a week characterized by a beehive of political activities around Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, Kakamega. The renown giant University located in Kakamega County is home to various students drawn from different tribes. The students in the University have been hailed across the country as one of the most organized, in terms of political strategies and the code of conduct of the elections. The electioneering period within the University is an Exact replica of what happens in the country. Students pledge their loyalty to different political parties, with the CRA and CDA parties dominating the 2022/2023 elections. Similarly, the students are heavy spenders as their political rallies and meetings are quite expansive. The elections that were held on 3rd and 4th of March saw Comrades Revival Alliance (CRA) gather most of the parliamentary seats and thus making it easier for them to win the SEC positions. Unlike last year, members of the Comrade Democratic Alliance(CDA) have shown significant improvement, winning the Treasury in the Executive council.
