Back Pain Relief: Back pain has been a big problem to very many and it’s a real nuisance. Here are five simple and easy steps to try and relieve the pain, and it’s advisable that you keenly listen to your body and stop in case of any increase in pain.
1. Knee-to-Chest Stretch:
This exercise is carried out while lying on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. You are required to pull one knee gently towards your chest while your back is on the floor and hold for 20-30 seconds. You can slowly return the leg and try with the other knee.
2. Pelvic Tilt: Back Pain Relief
This is a step that involves you still lying on your back on the floor. Abdominal muscles are engaged by tilting the pelvis up. Allow a small space between your lower back and the floor.
3. Child’s Pose:
It is carried out by bringing your toes together and sitting back on your heels. Fold forward, resting your chest on your thighs. Extend your arms forward or alongside your body to feel the gentle stretch in your lower back and hips.
4. Cat-Cow Stretch: Back Pain Relief
As you exhale, round your spine towards the ceiling while tucking your chin to your chest, and let your head hang gently. When inhaling, drop your belly towards the floor, arch your back, and lift your head and chest gently towards the ceiling.
5. Piriformis Stretch:
This involves lying on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor, then crossing your right ankle over your left knee. You should then gently pull your left thigh towards your chest with your hands. One should feel the stretch in their right hip or buttock area. Hold for 20 seconds and repeat on the other side.
